In 1931, Christa Winsloe wrote the sreen-play for the film Maedchen in Uniform, as well as a novel based on the film in 1933. Manuela, a sensitive girl, is sent to a strict Prussian all-girls boarding school and develops a romantic attachment to one of her teachers. In 1958, Romy Schneider and Lieselotte Pulver played the main characters in a re-make.Shown in a former Prussian castle this site-specific installation comprises of video, painted film stills, furniture, quotes from the novel and slogans from the 1958 set design. Im Jahre 1931 schrieb Christa Winsloe das Drehbuch für den Film Mädchen in Uniform, in dem die sensible Manuela in ein strenges, preußisches Mädcheninternat geschickt wird und sich dort in eine der Lehrerinnen verliebt. Winsloe schrieb zwei Jahre später auch noch den auf dem Film basierenden Roman Das Mädchen Manuela. Im Jahre 1958 spielten Romy Schneider und Lieselotte Pulver die Hauptrollen in einer Neuverfilmung.Die ortspezifische Installation in einem ehemaligen preußischen Schloss zeigt Video, gemalte Standbilder und getippte Zitate aus den Filmen, sowie Slogans aus der späteren Filmversion. Die Arbeit vergleicht die drei Interpretationen von preußischer Erziehung zu unterschiedlichen Zeiten.
